I am a transportation engineer with over 10 years of experience in the transportation industry. My main area of expertise is in transportation energy and emissions, and my background also includes supply chain management and life-cycle assessment. At my current position at the International Council on Clean Transportation, I am developing a Global Transportation Roadmap to assist nations in achieving a 50-85% reduction in transportation emissions. This includes the development of a model to forecast global transportation emissions to 2050, and the development of scenarios to achieve substantial reductions in transportation emissions. We believe the roadmap will encourage a dialogue amongst countries to select the best set of policies to get us there. At ICF International, an energy and environmental consulting firm, I completed numerous evaluations of transportation emissions at the national, regional, and local/project levels. I focused on traffic and mobile source emissions modeling, and on the evaluation of emissions models to better quantify emissions from transportation. I have also completed several assessments of road delay and level of service from additional road traffic, with the aim of quantifying emissions associated with different congestion scenarios. During my PhD program, I developed a life-cycle assessment of freight transportation, comparing emissions of trucking, freight rail, and airfreight. The evaluation included emissions from fuels, vehicles, and transportation infrastructure. During my tenure at American President Lines and Emery Worldwide, I participated in the development and implementation of transportation and warehousing programs for automotive manufacturers in the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, China, and Thailand. I hold a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Masters of Science in Transportation Management from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
